To suppose Man to be the highest consciousness is false. For Man is aware of the fallibility of his consciousness, aware of the many times men will fail themselves and their commitments. Man is applying some ideal consciousness to his own as a comparison. Returning to ideas of infinity, if man can conceive of this ideal consciousness, it must exist since the infinite is possible yet man’s mind operates within infinity; so man’s supreme idea of consciousness must be based on some reality. We must remember that this concept of consciousness is to some extent present in every man.
