I am not convinced to a great enough extent to lay down my soul to the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod or their God, and on the other hand, I am not knowledgeable enough to reject them and claim acceptance of another group…. I want to serve the world; I want to become a part of this mighty force’s army; I want to crusade for truth. But first I want to know truth…. I want so much to be a minister, if only I could be sure….
In all this, I must remember something. God did not write theology texts. God should be sought in a primary source, not just secondaries. Primary sources are trees, weather, power, people, people’s actions and reactions, and your own soul’s wanderings. Observe these things for first-hand knowledge of God.
